So you think you can sing? Everyone could give it a try at this ‘The Voice of Maastricht’.
ate: 21 May 2016
Location: D’n Hiemel
Organisation: Alberto Gutiérrez and Nina Scholten
Alberto Gutiérrez, who initially came up with the idea, wanted to organise a competition for people who like to sing and perform. Both amateurs and semi-professionals should be able to apply. This Spanish student’s dream saw the light of day. The next year Nina Scholten (Student European Studies at Maastricht University) decided to join the team to organise a second edition.
Live for the Applause is more than just a night filled with performances. Just like the big talent hunts you can see on the television, the audience decided who won! A team of young individuals were at the base of this event, who managed everything: presentation, podium, sound, promotion and live band. Believe it or not, there was even a live stream, enabling everyone who couldn’t attend to follow the show live behind their computer: everything was just like in The Voice of Holland: unbelievable! To get a feel of what it took to organise this event you can watch the videos below.
