Together with our international ambassadors from the UWC, we are getting ready for Yofest!
We are getting excited! Just a few more weeks and then Yofest begins, the European political youth festival will start in Maastricht! Just like many other local parties we’ve been asked to design an activity for Yofest to give the festival a local touch.
25 years ago the Maastricht treaty was signed in….Maastricht. One of the reasons this city was chosen was because of its rich cultural, bourgondic history due to its geographical, European location. Together with a group of international students CODE043 challenges the acquired tastes all visitors with a playful Limburg food challenge that is a true cultural ‘food for thought’ experience.
CODE043 asked our seven international ambassadors to rise to this challenge. Pim, Valeria, Martin, Uresa, Anthea, Jennifer and Auguste – all students from the UWC – met weekly to design this challenge. After discussing many, many topics and ideas, they kept coming back back to one thing: Food! Limburg and the Netherlands have some strange delicacies. So we designed the challenge: FREE FOOD IF YOU DARE! Throw some darts and see what food you will get to taste. Take a look at the photos below and see if you can spot what kinds of food you can taste at Yofest! The group also wrote about they experience the Netherlands and Maastricht in particular in a booklet that will be handed out at the festival.
